About our Apostle

                Apostle John E. Williams, Sr. was born on November 9^th, 1950 in Learned, Mississippi .  Prior to accepting his call into ministry, Apostle was and educator and has always had a strong love for educating, empowering, and uplifting people to maximize their full potential and become all they can be to become fruitful, productive citizens of society. 

                After a successful tenure as an educator, God had other plans for Apostle.  With the same passion, zeal and drive to see people successful in the secular world, God called our Apostle into the arena of ministry.  With a desire not to be like the status quo of ministry at that time, the call of God was answered and the call to pastor Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church #2 was answered.  Thus the journey began.

                Falling in love with God and God’s people, the church began to grow and expand and along with numerical growth, spiritual growth also took place thus causing a burning in Apostle’s heart to change the name from Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church to New Mount Calvary Christian Center, the current name of the Church.

                Faithfully serving as pastor for a number of years, God placed a stirring in Apostle’s heart that there is more work for him to do than just in the local congregation.  And with much prayer, fasting, and communion with God, the apostolic mantle was placed upon him and many confirmed this word after it was first given to him.

                Since accepting his calling as Apostle, many miracles, signs and wonders have followed as evidenced in the New Testament.   Apostle also serves as spiritual father to many who seek after the wisdom, guidance and understanding of a seasoned man of God.

                On a personal note, Apostle is the proud husband of Joyce Williams.  This 38 year union has produced two wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren, and many spiritual children whom he loves as his own.
